What is CrossMark?

CrossMark is a multi-publisher initiative of Crossref that gives readers a standard way to find the current version of a piece of content. By showing the CrossMark logo, GATHA COGNITION^® commits to maintaining the content it publishes and to alerting readers when it changes.

GATHA COGNITION^® follows the principles below for correcting, retracting and removing published content, including articles, book chapters, books, project reports, theses and dissertations.

Correcting

GATHA COGNITION^® publishes content only after careful editorial assessment. Even so, content can be corrected after final publication on the Online Platform for errors in data, interpretation, findings, citations, bibliography, etc. The corrections and changes are summarised under “Amendments” in a new version of the content.

Retractions

Content published by GATHA COGNITION^® on www.gathacognition.com may be retracted for reasons including:

• Errors reported by the author(s), with a request for retraction
• Errors in data or research outcomes
• Research misconduct, including data fabrication
• Duplicate publication
• Fraudulent use of data
• Plagiarism — unauthorised reproduction of all or a substantial part of published or unpublished content
• Unethical research reports, including undisclosed conflicts of interest and/or unethical conduct in testing and experiments

The retraction notice issued to the author(s) clearly states the reason(s) for retraction and who asked for it. The notice is linked to the retracted article, which is clearly marked as retracted, and is usually archived in the author’s account on the Manuscript Portal^®.

Note on duplicate content: printed published content and unpublished reports, theses and dissertations (including electronic data) are not treated as duplicates when they are published electronically on www.gathacognition.com.

Removal

Content published on www.gathacognition.com is removed only when an adverse legal order is placed on the publisher, the copyright holder or the author(s) — for example, if the content is clearly defamatory, infringes others’ legal rights, or is the subject of an adverse court order. The citation details of removed content, and the circumstances of the removal, are kept on the Online Platform.

Editorial note

An editorial note may be shown with published content when the editorial office receives information about cognizable misconduct in the research, or a serious dispute between authors or between authors and third parties.

Publication types

Article type	Description
Original Research Paper	A full-length report of original research.
Technical Paper	A short, complete description of a specific application of a technique.
Review Article	Reports the progress, shortfalls, views, approaches and trends in earlier research.
Book Review	A concise review of a published book.
